The London Learner Survey (LLS) is administered by the Greater London Authority (GLA), who provide the funding for adult learning in Bromley. The survey is in two parts; Bromley Adult Education College (BAEC) is asked to send the first part to learners and then the IFF (a research company working on behalf of the GLA) will follow up with a second survey around 4-6 months after the end of your course to see if anything has changed.
You will be sent an email with a link to the survey during your first week or two of study and we ask that you complete it within the first 4 weeks of learning. When starting a new course, you will receive the link again, once per term, as the GLA require you to complete it every 90 days.
The objective of the LLS is to measure the impact of the spending on adult learning across the whole of London. The Mayor is keen to understand how important the adult education budget is to Londoners and how participation changes lives. The results of the first year of the survey were published in June 2023 and demonstrated how valuable people find attending courses, whatever the subject being studied. Here at BAEC, we know how much your courses mean to you and we are grateful for the opportunity to be able to share this with the GLA. So please do complete the survey!
Your course, even if you pay a contribution, is funded/subsidised by the GLA and as such, BAEC is obliged to follow the Grant Funding Rules laid down by them.
The obligations of our contract with the GLA include asking all eligible learners to complete the LLS. We are also tasked with having a participation rate of 50% – future funding budgets will be under threat if this rate is not reached, meaning your course may be at risk at any time in the future.
