ESOL – English for Speakers of Other Languages

If you are interested in joining our ESOL classes, please see our pre-course assessment page

Bromley Adult Education College has a thriving  ESOL department. If you would like to develop your English, improve your chances of getting a job, gain a qualification, help your children with their homework, increase your confidence or gain the skills needed to talk to friends and neighbours you are more than welcome.

Language classes range from Pre-entry (for our beginner students) to Level 2 for our advanced students.

Classes take place online or at at the college’s main centres: the Kentwood Centre in Penge (Kingsdale Road, SE20 7PR) and the Poverest Centre in Orpington (Poverest Road, BR5 2DQ). You can generally choose to attend classes in the morning, afternoon or evening at the centres or study online, depending on availability.

The ESOL classes are for those who have a legal right to live in the UK for 12 months.  To check if you are eligible for ESOL courses, email enquiries@baec.ac.uk

These programmes are fully funded (free) for most eligible students. You may be asked to provide proof of your income or benefit status. All students will need to complete an enrolment form which declares their employment and residence status. If you are in the UK on a student visa, you will not be eligible for classes.

Fees will be payable if your residence status cannot be determined.

All students are required to attend an initial assessment before acceptance on the course.

Students will be expected to sit the appropriate ESOL examination(s) and have minimum 90% attendance.
