Develop an understanding of why the Thames was crucial to the development of the City of London. You will begin to appreciate the ways in which trade grew and was protected within the City and develop a recognition of some features of architecture within the City and what some buildings were used for and the current way in which they are used now. You will also gain a growing awareness that the City has green spaces, and the main ways the City acquired those gardens.
