Functional Skills, Intro to GCSE and GCSE maths

Bromley Adult Education College offers maths classes at the college’s two main centres: the Kentwood Centre in Penge (Kingsdale Road, SE20 7PR) and the Poverest Centre in Orpington (Poverest Road, BR5 2DQ).
All sessions last two and a half to three hours and take place in the morning, some afternoons, and evening. These classes are ideal for students who wish to improve their maths for study, everyday life or to help them get a job. Students can work towards nationally recognised qualifications or develop their skills informally in Multiply courses. We are currently offering Maths Functional Skills courses at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2.
Maths qualification programmes are fully funded (free) for individuals who meet the residency criteria and have not previously attained a GCSE grade A* to C or grade 4, or higher. You will find more info about GCSE grades here.
Any student who would like to join our classes will need to attend an initial assessment session. Please note that all courses start from September 2025.
